It is my sad duty today advise that our Patron of the HMAS AUSTRALIA Association, Commander Dick Bourke, passed away on Wednesday of this week.
Dick has spent more than 12 months in Lulworth House at Elizabeth Bay bedbound and in a lot of pain with the effects of Parkinsons Disease, so he is now at peace.
Dick was adamant that he did not want a funeral. They are waiting for his son to arrive from Fiji on Monday, and after a private cremation and family service they will scatter his ashes at sea.
Dick was a staunch supporter of and worker for the Australia Association and will be sorely missed.
VALE Richard Bourke.
